Inspired by the Holy Spirit, we envision the Commission on Faith and Doctrine as renewed and committed instruments in the formation, deepening and witnessing of our Christ – centered faith among our co- pastoral workers and the faithful in our Vicariate.

Mission

We carry out this mission through Biblical formation, catechesis and liturgical enrichment, family and life apostolate and animation for Mandated Organization.

Faith & Doctrine Commission Desks

Biblical Desk

The Word is the center and the Foundation of our mission. It is from here that the Message of our proclamation finds its foundation. The Biblical Desk therefore, works to enhance the appreciation and living out of God’s Message of Salvation through the promotion of Biblical apostolate.

Catechetical Desk

The Catechetical Desk is tasked to ensure that our faithful adequately learn about our basic Catechism and its implication to our faith as baptized Christians. This includes the formulation of guidelines for the proper reception of the Sacraments in accordance to the Church’s laws and AVT policies especially on Baptism, Holy Eucharist; Penance, Confirmation, Matrimony, Holy Orders, Anointing of the Sick. Their task also comprises the formation of catechists and lay collaborators.

Liturgical Desk

The task of the Liturgical Desk is to ensure that all the Parishes uphold the dignity of the celebration of the Eucharist and all liturgical celebrations as stipulated by the liturgical laws of the Church. They provide guidelines for the Parishes about the proper celebration of the Holy Eucharist, liturgical songs and rubrics.

The Liturgical Desk heads in the preparation of the Liturgy: e.g., during the regular Pastoral Workers’ meetings; AVT anniversaries; and ordinations; and other liturgical celebrations on the AVT level. Other tasks include, but not limited to, the formation of Lectors, Commentators, Extraordinary Communion Helpers, Altar Servers; Music ministers, and Church liturgists. They can also assist in recollections or retreats.

Chaplaincy for the Mandated Organization

*Chaplaincy for the Mandated Organization
There are only six (6) official Mandated Organizations that are approved to function in our AVT. These are: The Knights of Columbus; the Holy Name Society; the Apostleship of Prayer; the Catholic Women’s League and the Couples for Christ, and the BCBP. And it is the responsibility of the Faith and Doctrine Commission to see to it that the Mandated Organizations are adequately assisted in their spiritual and organizational needs in line with the programs of the AVT.

Hospital Apostolate -Visitation of the sick

The sick in the hospitals are always in need of consolation and spiritual assistance. It is the task of the Faith and Doctrine Commission in cooperation with the Apostleship of Prayer to cater spiritual care and nourishment for the sick.

Liturgical Store

The Liturgical store was recently added in to have an access to the necessary supplies needed in the AVT Parishes in their celebration of the Liturgy, the sacraments and other spiritual activities.

Prison Apostolate

The Faith and Doctrine Commission, in collaboration with the Catholic Women’s League, supports prison apostolate through spiritual and moral assistance as well as regular visitation.
